Reports to • Head Coach & ARCT Coaches

Job Purpose

Adventure Rock is seeking highly-engaged individuals committed to furthering Adventure Rock Climbing Team’s vision: to develop well-rounded youth climbers, willing to take on challenges, act with integrity, contribute to a flourishing climbing community, and to be positively engaged. Assistant Coaches are responsible for helping to further this vision through supporting the ARCT coaches.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist Head Coach, Youth & Teen Team coaches in producing quality programing
Produce fun, positive environment for athletes to learn and feel safe in
Help keep athletes accountable for their goals
Coach, develop, encourage and inspire climbers toward climbing skill development and progression
Build and maintain a good, healthy relationship with parents and athletes
Actively brainstorm on ways to improve the program and curriculum


Must be 18 yrs old or older
Demonstrate leadership, organizational, and planning skills
Demonstrate skill in team development and motivation
Ability to promote a positive and professional rock climbing experience
Self-motivated and organized, good communicator

Working Conditions

Negotiated with Head Coach

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 40-50 pounds on occasion
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to top rope and lead belay competently


This position is part-time, volunteer position and includes a gym membership and other benefits.
