ARCT Reopening

Adventure Rock Climbing Team Operating Procedures

June – August 2020

ARCT will follow the guidelines put in place by Adventure Rock Climbing Gym’s COVID-19 Policies. Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines below:

  • Who can visit: Only members are permitted inside the facility. Until further notice, no day passes will be sold. Members will not be allowed to use guest passes at this time and we will not allow spectators in the gym.
  • Capacity limits: We will use a reservation system to limit maximum capacity at any given time. Numbers may vary per location.
  • Reservations: Members must make an online reservation for each climbing session.
  • Instruction unavailable: In the continued effort to minimize close contact we will not offer any instruction (this includes yoga & fitness classes, belay instruction, youth programs, camps, etc.). We will continue online Yoga and Fitness classes via YouTube.
  • Questions? Call 262-790-6800 or email climb@adventurerock.com

  • Masks required: Visitors are required to wear face masks at all times.
  • If you feel sick, STAY HOME!

  • Wash your hands frequently (before – during – after climbing) and utilize the hand sanitize in your zone prior to and after your climb.
  • Certain areas of the gym such as bouldering, fitness, and cardio rooms may be subject to additional capacity limitations. Please be respectful of your friends and fellow climbers, do not overcrowd these tight spaces.
  • No cash transactions will be accepted at this time.

Online Practices

We will continue to hold online practices throughout the week. These practices will be team specific. If you are participating in these online team practices, we ask that you reactivate your Adventure Rock membership (the additional ARCT membership is not required for these practices).

Practices are 4:15pm-5:15pm | Monday: Teen Team | Tuesday: Wee/Ascent Team | Wednesday: Youth Team | Thursday: Comp Team

Climbing in Milwaukee: As of right now, Milwaukee’s Mayor Tom Barrett has not lifted the city’s Safer-at-Home order; non-essential businesses can only have 10 people in the facility at a time. ARCT can adhere to these guidelines, thus we are able to include Milwaukee into our programing during this time.

Social Distancing and Practice: It is expected that athletes will maintain a 6ft distance from other athletes and coaches. However, if an athlete is in danger, a coach may have to break this 6ft distancing.

Zones: During this time, the gym is sectioned into ‘zones.’ While Adventure Rock’s current operating procedures states that only two climbers can be in each zone at a time, ARCT will have 4 climbers plus one coach in each zone. Coaches will ensure that climbers are maintaining appropriate distancing.

Drop Off/Pick Up: Please be punctual for drop off/pick up; athletes will not be allowed in the building prior to the start of their session and must exit promptly when the session is finished. Coaches will wait at the door for both drop off/pick up. **Athletes will not be allowed in the building if they are not wearing a mask. **

Sanitation: Athletes are required to use hand sanitizer prior to and after climbing. Additionally, they will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to and after belaying, as well as .

Lead Ropes: ARCT will be able to use Adventure Rock lead ropes, but must use hand sanitizer before and after climbing as well as belaying.

Water Bottles: The water fountain will be closed during this time. Please plan ahead and bring a sufficient amount of liquid to stay hydrated. You will be able to purchase from the Pro Shop if you forget to bring any liquids.
