Price: $25 each, or $40 for both classes
Have you ever been sitting below the crag, enjoying the view after a great climb, and wished there was a better way to capture the moment than reaching for your phone? In this two-class creative series, you’ll learn how to turn climbing memories into something tangible through handmade journaling and simple illustrative storytelling.
Journal Making Class
Saturday March 28th 3pm-5pm
In this class, you will learn styles and techniques to bind your own journal using upcycled materials. Supplies will be provided and participants will get to take home their very own handmade journal by the end of class.
Illustrative Journaling Class
Saturday April 4th | 3pm-5pm
In this companion class to journal making, you will learn accessible and simple techniques for creative memory capturing and analog storytelling in your handmade journal. This class is meant for all skills and abilities, especially those who have no experience! Bring a journal or paper to class, all other supplies provided. *you do not need to have taken the journal making class to participate.*
Both classes can be taken together or separately, and all supplies are provided.
ABOUT CALYNN
Calynn is a Milwaukee-based visual artist and writer who spends her days working as an early childhood caregiver and preschool teacher. A longtime lover of folk tales, her paintings and creative projects often center families, animals, and whimsical nature-based spaces. What began as painting has grown into a creative practice that includes fibers, sculpture, and writing. You can often find her work at craft fairs and art markets around Milwaukee.
